As of now, Saturday’s forecast calls for a high of 13°C and a 60% chance of showers.
Why is that important? Because the Penticton Farmers’ Market returns this weekend to its usual outdoor spot in the 100 block of Main Street.
Starting this weekend, the market will run weekly on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 1 pm until Oct. 25.
“Shop local. Love local. Support Canadian,” says a post from the City of Penticton. “Here's your chance to support our local growers and makers, while purchasing fresh, locally grown food.”
To accommodate the event each weekend, the 100 block of Main Street, north of Westminster Avenue, will be shut down from 6 am until 2 pm every Saturday.
“Drivers are reminded to anticipate extra foot traffic throughout the area and to watch for signage and posted detours,” the City noted.
The free bike valet service provided by the City will not begin operating until Saturday, May 17.
The Penticton Farmers’ Market has been operating downtown since 1991 and attracts close to 10,000 visitors during the height of the summer.
