It won't be for a great deal of prestige – but the four Okanagan teams in the BCHL will be playing for something during this lengthy exhibition schedule due to COVID-19 – the Okanagan Cup.
The two-month tournament that will feature the Okanagan’s four teams and is slated to begin on Sept. 25, with the championship game taking place on Nov. 14.
The tournament will consist of 27 games featuring the Penticton Vees, Salmon Arm Silverbacks, Vernon Vipers and West Kelowna Warriors.
There will be two sets of home-and-home mini-series, as each team will face-off against one another four times. The games will take place on Fridays and Saturdays with each team playing a total of 12 games.
The schedule begins Friday, Sept. 25 with the Vernon Vipers taking on the West Kelowna Warriors and the Penticton Vees facing the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
The final weekend of play will begin Saturday, Nov. 7 – followed by a weekend of semi-final action beginning Friday, Nov. 13, and concluding with the championship game Saturday, Nov. 14.
Each of the team's 12 games will be streamed live on HockeyTV.com.
In addition, all four organizations are excited to showcase their players on Shaw Spotlight. Select games on the Shaw Spotlight channels across the Okanagan will provide fans with a great opportunity to watch BCHL hockey on TV.
