Multiple structures affected by Thursday afternoon fire in Penticton

A fire broke out in the south part of Penticton this afternoon, just west of Skaha Lake.

The blaze was first spotted around 1:30 pm, producing a noticeable plume of black smoke rising up above the Riva Ridge mobile home park.

A first responder at the scene told PentictonNow’s Gord Goble that two structures were involved.

Both the extent of the damage and whether anyone was injured in the blaze are unknown at this time.

Fire crews from the Penticton Fire Department and Penticton Indian Band were quick to the scene and have significantly suppressed the fire.
