Large items can be left out for garbage pickup in Penticton next week

Residents who receive curbside garbage collection services will be able to leave two oversized items out for pick-up and disposal on their regular garbage day from April 18-22.

Large items with a maximum weight of 90 kilograms must be left out for collection by 7 am and have a minimum of 1 metre of space between them and garbage carts, due to a separate truck collecting oversized items.

Accepted items include furniture, appliances such as refrigerators and stoves, exercise equipment and mattresses.

Items not permitted include objects with gas motors, televisions, hot water tanks and renovation waste such as toilets, plumbing fixtures and doors.

Small appliances and electronics will not be collected, but they can be dropped off for free at J&C Bottle Depot at 200 Rosetown Avenue, PACE at 105 Martin Street (entrance on Estabrook Ave) or at Campbell Mountain Landfill at 1765 Reservoir Road.

Multifamily buildings are not eligible to participate in the large item collection.
