The City of Penticton’s chief election officer has made the official announcement of who secured the empty seat in council.
Preliminary results showed that Jason Reynen secured the spot and on Tuesday, Angie Collison made the official announcement.
Reynen secured 1,839 votes, which far surpassed the next closest candidate Juliana Buitenhuis, who secured 783 votes.
It is expected that Reynen will be sworn in before his first council meeting on April 22.
He will be taking over former councillor Amelia Boultbee’s seat after she was elected as a MLA in October.
Reynen is the owner of PACE Performance Auto Care & Exhaust - NAPA AutoPro and founded the local anti-crime group Clean Streets.
