Group does thousands in damage after climbing on roof of Pen High

The RCMP is trying to identify the people responsible for causing significant damage to the roof of Penticton Secondary School.

According to police, four people were at Pen High during the early morning hours of April 24.

They arrived in what appears to be a white Nissan Juke and proceeded to climb onto the roof of the school.

During their ascent, they allegedly damaged equipment related to the school district’s network and the RCMP said the estimated repair costs are over $8,000.

“This kind of damage is senseless,” explained Cst. Dayne Lyons. “Whether accidental or intentional, the repair costs come out of the pot of money that would be better spent on students and education.”
