Employee at Penticton Safeway tests positive for COVID-19

An employee at Safeway in Penticton has tested positive for COVID-19, the store has said.

The staff member last worked at the Main Street outlet on Oct. 9.

Safeway listed the infection on Tuesday.

Interior Health yesterday reported three new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

It brought the total number of cases in the BC Interior to 585 since the start of the pandemic, with 29 active cases.

Two of those cases are hospitalizations, up one from Tuesday, and one person has now entered intensive care due to COVID-19 as well.
