The Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association (DPBIA) is preparing for a series of fun pop-up projects in the heart of downtown.
In collaboration with the City of Penticton, the DPBIA is preparing to launch The Community Pop-up Project, which is meant to revitalize an underutilized and vacant lot at 598 Main St.
The lot will be transformed into a vibrant area called “Street Beats and Eats,” says a news release from the DPBIA.
Residents are invited to live music, activities, and a food and beverage garden on one day each month until September.
Each event will run from 5-8 pm and will include the following activities:
Thursday, June 20: mini car show on White Avenue adjacent to the lot, live rock and country music, beverage garden, food from Kin & Folk Restaurant
Thursday, July 11: mini market night with live country music, beverage garden, food
Monday, Aug. 5: live music from Get Chico, beverages and food
Thursday, Sept. 5: live jazz music, beverages and food
"We are thrilled to bring this project to life and infuse more energy into our downtown," said Brett Turner, executive director of the Downtown Penticton BIA.
"These events offer entertainment while also fostering a sense of community and supporting local businesses.”
