City of Penticton seeks new operators for the Peach, Skaha East concessions

The City of Penticton is looking for operators for the concessions on the east side of Skaha Lake and the Peach.

Two requests for proposals (RFP) have been issued to find operators for the upcoming summer months.

The city uses the RFP process for each of the city’s four seasonal concessions, which currently happens every three to five years, and is based on the principle of keeping opportunities for commercial use of city parkland transparent, fair and equitable, a news release said.

Most recently, the operator of the Peach changed hands in 2022.

The 2025 renewal process opened Friday and anyone interested in operating a concession can click here for more information.

All proposals will be evaluated by a committee of staff based on a set of specific criteria.

The goal is to have the RFP award in time for the concessions to open on May 1.

Contracts for the other two concessions, which are the Sudbury Beach and Skaha Main concessions, do not need to be renewed until Sept. 30, 2028.
