Crews will be constructing a new ramp at the Skaha Lake Marina boat launch, which will result in a three week closure.
The boat launch will be blocked off to the public between Oct. 11 and Nov. 2.
“The replacement ramp will be wider and extend further into the lake, providing a safer and easier launch site for boat owners,” a City release explained.
A closure is necessary to allow for environmental controls like creating a silt barrier to prevent turbidity from leaching into the lake.
During the project, the ramp will be removed, the site excavated and new concrete mats will be installed with a large crane.
There are two other boat launches available on Skaha Lake, in Kaleden and Okanagan Falls, that will be open to the public while this work is underway.
