Isaac Gilbert is hoping third time's a charm in his bid for a seat on Penticton city council.
He first ran in 2018 and then came in second in the 2021 by-election to replace the outgoing Jake Kimberly.
Now, he’s running on a platform that focuses on housing affordability, economic sustainability and community building.
“As a peace officer and working in crime prevention at BC Parks, Isaac brings much-needed expertise to help address crime in the city,” says a release from his campaign.
“He wants to empower the city to utilize new planning policies to make the streets of Penticton safer.”
Gilbert wants to address people’s insecurities around housing, jobs and accessing the services they need in hopes that it will connect and bring the community together in a positive way.
He has led Penticton’s Parks and Rec Committee for the past four years and was involved in the establishment of master plans for Skaha Lake East and Robson Park.
His official campaign launch will take place Friday starting at 7 pm at the Penticton Seniors’ Drop-in Centre.
