A BC Cannabis Store is opening in Penticton in 2019 and they’re looking to hire staff this summer 

A BC Cannabis Store is set to open on Penticton’s Main Street this year, and they’re looking to recruit prospective employees this summer.

The Penticton store will be located at #7 – 2210 Main Street, within the Penticton Power Centre mall and is expected to open later this year.

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) says that they are holing a job fair on July 2 at the Penticton Lakeside Resort from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fair will allow people to speak to representatives about the positions available and the experience they’re looking for.

BC Cannabis Stores is looking for one store manager, two assistant managers, six full-time cannabis consultants, and eight part-time/auxiliary cannabis consultants.

Even though LDB recruiters will be collecting resumes at the event, all prospective candidates must submit their application via the LDB’s online portal to be considered.

The LBD says that successful candidates will receive extensive training with a focus on “social responsibility practices related to safety and responsible adult use.”

During the last regular council meeting at Penticton City Hall, councillors also directed staff to send recommendations of support to the British Columbia Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch for non-medical cannabis retail store licenses for Green Essence (101–437 Martin Street), Greenery Cannabis Boutique (465 Main Street), and Zen Canna (103–2050 Main Street), Fairview Cannabis Corner (104–1652 Fairview Road).
