(Original story: Sept. 23 @ 4:56 pm) – The City of Penticton says crews are working to bypass a massive power outage affecting thousands of people.
Around 4 pm, the city said it was notified of the outage.
An hour later, just before 5 pm, the city said an estimated 7,800 people were without power.
“The City’s Electrical Utility is working to bypass the outage while FortisBC works to resolve the problem,” the city said in an update.
The outage is stemming from the Westminster substation, the city said.
An update will be provided once the city has more details, a news release said.
