Police believe shots fired in parking lot of Okanagan business were from ‘targeted’ act

Mounties in the North Okanagan are still piecing together the details surrounding a shots-fired report late last week.

Officers rushed to the scene in the parking lot of a business, in the 5100 block of 26th Street in Vernon, around 5 pm on Friday, Nov. 22.

Upon arrival, they found evidence that the RCMP says was consistent with a firearm being discharged.

“No injuries were reported and findings from our investigation so far incident this to be a targeted and not a random act,” explained Cst. Chris Terleski.

Police continue to investigate the incident and are urging any potential witnesses to call the North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171.
