Missing woman last seen in Peachland area, truck found abandoned at beach

A Vancouver Island woman is believed to be missing in the Central Okanagan.

Police say 40-year-old Stephanie Woodcock of Port Alberni was likely last seen in the Antler Beach area of Peachland as recently as Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Her last communication with family, however, was two days earlier on Sunday, Sept. 1.

The missing woman was travelling in a grey 2009 GMC Yukon, which the RCMP notes was “outfitted to be lived in.”

According to the RCMP, her truck was parked at Antler Beach on Sept. 3 and a female matching her description was seen by police nearby.

“Her vehicle has since been reported abandoned and was impounded from the beach area,” an RCMP release added. “However, police nor family have had any further contact with Stephanie.”

Police provided the following description of Woodcock:

  • 40 years old
  • Caucasian female
  • Long light brown and blonde curly hair, possibly shaved on the sides
  • Blue eyes
  • 5’8”
  • 126 lbs
  • Nose rings
  • Often has an acoustic guitar with her

The RCMP is now turning to the public for help in this case and is urging anyone who may have seen Woodcock, or knows of her current whereabouts, to come forward.

Anyone with information can contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
