Jane Goodall to visit Vernon in March

World-renowned English primatologist and anthropologist, Dr. Jane Goodall, will be paying the Okanagan a visit this coming March.

As part of a three-city British Columbian tour, Dame Goodall will speak at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday, March 24.

Known for her groundbreaking discoveries in regards to chimpanzees, Dr. Goodall has received many accolades including Japan’s Kyoto Prize, the National Geographic Society’s Hubbard Medal and the Order of the British Empire.

At the event, Dr. Goodall will describe her scientific breakthroughs in animal behavior, her journey to becoming one of the world’s most prominent and active conservationists and her pioneering chimpanzee research expedition in Tanzania during the 1960s.

Tickets, as well as meet and greet packages, will be available for purchase on Monday, Dec 16 at 10 am.

All proceeds from sales will go toward the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada and it’s continued efforts in protecting our planet and most endangered species.
