The B.C. Interior may not be without charter bus service for long.
Transportation company Ebus has applied to take over several Okanagan routes that will soon be left vacant by Greyhound.
In July, Greyhound announced it would be discontinuing all routes in B.C. with one exception, leaving many to wonder if any service would replace the long-standing bus company.
B.C.’s Passenger Transportation Board received Ebus’ application on Wednesday, which states that the company is requesting to provide charter service from Kelowna to Vancouver, Kelowna to Kamloops and Kamloops to Vancouver.
Trips between Kelowna and Kamloops would include stops in Vernon, while trips between Kelowna and Vancouver would include stops in Merritt and Chilliwack.
Service between Kamloops and Vancouver would include stops in Merritt and Abbotsford.
Greyhound is scheduled to cease service by Oct. 31.
