Looking for something unique to do for Father’s Day this year?

Horse Drawn Okanagan has a special event planned at a farm in Lumby that dads will love.

There will be two teams of Clydesdales headed to Timber Ridge Trails in Lumby on June 16, 2024. You can take a trip on an old-fashioned wagon and enjoy a ride through the beautiful private farm land.

After the ride, have some lunch made fresh on an outdoor skillet from the Timber Ridge team. There will be locally sources Helmets Sausage on the menu.

Additionally, you can take portraits at the staged photo area, and participate n a scavenger hunt, yard games, or take a walk on the trails.

“The last time we brought our horse to Timber Ridge Trails was to offer a carriage ride for a wedding,” says Kelly MacIntosh, Horse Drawn Okanagan.

“We love the venue and thought it would be a perfect setting to offer an event open to the public. We are so happy to have partnered with Timber Ridge Trails this year, they are incredible hosts and caterers, and we look forward to celebrating Father’s Day in Lumby this year.”

MacIntosh adds that part of the goal of the event is to educate the public on the significance of draft horses.

“We hear the occasional Dad or Grandpa tell stories about how they used horses on the farm to grow crops or go to school by horse and buggy, but soon those stories won’t include horses anymore. We want to pay tribute to draft horses and keep that storytelling alive, and also introduce this part of history to younger generations.”

Pre-registration is required for the event. Guests can sign up for an 11 am, 12 pm, or 1 pm arrival time. Wagon rides are with a team of Clydesdales and will run throughout the event.

For more information and to purchase tickets, contact Kelly MacIntosh at 250-540-7344, or [email protected] or visit their website here.

The cost is $25 for adults, $15 for kids 4-10 years, and it’s free for children aged three and under.
