Air quality warning issued for much of southeastern BC

Smokey skies have taken over parts of the province, including here in the Okanagan.

As a result, Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement for a portion of the BC Interior.

“Multiple regions across BC are being impacted or are likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24-48 hours,” read the Environment Canada notice.

“Smoke will be highly variable in and around the complex valleys in southern areas of the province. During a wildfire, smoke conditions can change quickly over short distances and can vary considerably hour-by-hour.”
