Rifflandia is making some changes ahead of the 2024 event.
The company behind the Victoria festival has decided to move the event to the Matullia Lands at Rock Bay this September.
After hosting Rifflandia Festival’s Electric Avenue on the Matullia Lands in 2022 and 2023, organizers have made the decision to move the entirety of the festival to an all-ages, one-site, one-weekend model.
Matullia Lands is located at the north-west corner of Pembroke St. and Government St., and was purchased from BC Hydro from the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations in 2022.
“We are honoured to work alongside the team at Matullia to bring this new vision and multi-year plan to life. For the past 17 years, Rifflandia has served a diverse and creative music-forward community, and throughout that time we have always maintained a spirit of reinvention. Innovation is what drives us as we continue to present the best live music experiences in Victoria,” said Nick Blasko, President & CEO, Rifflandia Entertainment Co.
“Matullia Holdings welcomes a multi-year agreement with Rifflandia Entertainment Co. The lands at Rock Bay have served as an important gathering point for generations, and we look forward to continuing and building on this powerful cultural legacy,” adds John Rice, Operations Manager, Matullia Holdings.
Rifflandia has seen premiere acts at its events, including Lorde, Charli XCX, Iggy Pop, Shaq, Paris Hilton, and Run The Jewels.
The lineup for the 2024 festival has yet to be announced, but organizers say attendees can expect “top-level production and site amenities built around another diverse, high-caliber lineup of talent.”
