Penticton Vees to open inaugural WHL season in Victoria, debut at home against Kelowna

The start of the Penticton Vees’ inaugural WHL season is just 107 days away.

The WHL announced home opener dates for all 23 clubs today and it revealed that the Vees will be on the road for their first game in the league.

Penticton will head to Vancouver Island to take on the Victoria Royals on the first day of the 2025-26 WHL schedule – Friday, Sept. 19.

A week later, Vees fans will get their first chance to see the team on home ice, as Penticton’s home opener will be on Friday, Sept. 26, against the Kelowna Rockets.

The organization is promising extra festivities to celebrate the historic home game against the Rockets and those will be announced over the coming weeks.

The full 2025-26 WHL regular season schedule will be released later this month.
