After making one selection in the first round of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft on Wednesday, the Penticton Vees were back in action on Thursday.
The day began with the 2025 WHL US Priority Draft and the Vees had the fourth overall pick, which they used to select forward Carter Morris.
Morris had 111 points in 56 games with the Shattuck-St. Mary's Sabres U14 team this past season.
After taking Morris, the Vees selected defenceman Parker Deraney with the 27th overall pick.
The defenceman had 20 assists and three goals in 22 games with the Minnesota Blue Ox U14 squad this past season.
Following the US draft, the prospects draft resumed, and the Vees selected forward Peter Banicevic 47th overall.
Banicevic had 68 points in 36 games with the Delta Hockey Academy U15 Prep team this past season.
The Vees then returned to the Lower Mainland talent pool and took netminder Jack Utsunomiya 96th overall.
Utsunomiya had a 1.99 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage in 19 games with the Delta Hockey Academy U15 Prep team.
At 116th overall, the Vees selected Nash Weyland from the Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 Prep team.
The defenceman had nine goals and 23 points in 34 games this past season.
