Pickleball fans in Penticton will soon have more courts to conquer as the addition of two new playing surfaces at Robinson Park is scheduled to be completed this spring.
“The addition of two new courts at Robinson Park is an exciting step for our club,” said Ronna Pearson, president of the Penticton Pickleball Club (PPC).
“These courts will offer more opportunities for everyone to enjoy the sport, whether they’re seasoned players or new to pickleball.”
The new courts at Robinson Park were partially funded by the PPC as the group “worked closely with the City of Penticton to make this project a reality.”
On top of the new courts at Robinson Park, the local pickleball club is working with the City of Penticton to build four more courts at Skaha Lake Park that are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
The courts will be exclusively open to the public and the PPC is contributing $100,000 towards the project.
“We’re also looking forward to the construction of the Skaha Lake Park courts,” added Don Milne, PPC treasurer.
“These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to fostering the growth of pickleball in Penticton.”
