Registration has opened for the annual Giant's Head Run that takes place at the base of Giant’s Head Mountain.
The race is on June 3 and will begin at 6 pm outside of the Summerland Aquatic and Fitness Centre, with the finish line in the same location.
The run has a theme of “Retro Fun Run,” so bust out your best 80’s and 90’s gear or put on the brightest neon clothes you have.
You can choose to take part in either 5 km or 10 km distances, which both feature 80's music and water spray stations along the run.
There will be fun activities at the finish line including an inflatable race course for kids, and awards and prizes will be given away after the race.
“Giant’s Head Run has been a true community building recreation event for almost forty years,” said mayor Doug Holmes in a news release.
The first 400 registrants are guaranteed a race shirt and you can sign up online at runningroom.com or in person at the Summerland Aquatic and Fitness Centre. Early bird pricing ends May 28, 2023.
“We love that people of all ages and abilities come together for health, fitness, fun and community spirit," added Holmes.
More information about the 39th installment of the community run can be found on the District of Summerland's website.
