Local basketball fans are in for a treat.
BC's top college basketball teams are in Kelowna for the PACWEST championship and the tournament gets underway Thursday in the Kelowna Christian School Gym.
The event features four games each day culminating with the medal games on Saturday.
Twelve teams are competing: six on the men's side and six on the women's side.
The host Coyotes are in the running on both sides.
We caught up with Head Coach Dino Gini, while the men were having a shoot-around at Kelowna Christian.
"It came down to the last weekend for the men's to make it and the women's team clinched it the weekend before," said Coyotes Head Coach Dino Gini.
"So...a little stressful. But we're both in it, thank gosh."
The women’s bracket will begin each day at 12:30 pm and conclude each night with the men’s bracket at 8:00 pm.
"It's a big event," said Gini.
"It's all the top teams in BC," he said. "To have the top 12 teams in BC come here, it's fantastic."
The PACWEST Conference will send two teams to the CCAA national championship, so a berth in the final game means a ticket to the nationals.
Tickets for the PACWEST championship tournament can be purchased at the door of Kelowna Christian School beginning at 11:30 am each day.
Tickets are available at the door.
For those who can't squeeze into the gym, the games will be streamed live on PACWEST TV.
