Kelowna is home to many things, which includes Irish dancer Lauren Maier.
The 18-year-old has had the chance to compete all over the world and now she has a chance to represent Kelowna in Ireland later this summer.
Maier has been accepted into the 2018 Fusion Fighters Dance Fest in Limerick, Ireland, and as one of the first ten to be accepted, she is up for a scholarship to help her with the costs to attend.
The scholarship can be won through a video competition in which dancers have two weeks to get as many views as possible, which is aided by more likes and shares.
For her video, Maier chose to Knox Mountain as the setting, with a gorgeous view of Kelowna and Okanagan Lake in the background.
Last year, it took 500,000 views to win the competition and Maier is hoping that the local community can help her surpass that number.
You can view the video through this link, and remember to refresh a few times to get her the most possible views!
Maier has been dancing with the Blakey School of Irish Dance for 12 years, competing in numerous competitions including the World Championships.
She attended the Riverdance Summer School in Boston last year and received the City of Kelowna Teen Honour in the Arts Award in 2015.
