BC has officially entered phase two of its recovery program and many of Kelowna’s popular local breweries, wineries and restaurants have finally opened for the season.
However, following months of lockdown restrictions, the Okanagan’s usually bustling tourism sector has come to a grinding halt and many local businesses are struggling as a result.
To try and make the best of the pandemic situation, Tourism Kelowna has launched its “Show Your Love for Kelowna” campaign that’s encouraging locals to go check out spots that are usually populated with tourists.
"Show your love for Kelowna and the Central Okanagan and support local by exploring your favourite spots and sharing photos on social media," said Tourism Kelowna in a release.
"Visit your favourite beach or park, savour a dish from your go-to restaurant, enjoy a tasting flight at a brewery, grab a bottle of local wine to enjoy at home—the list could go on, just be sure to have fun with it!"
As an added bonus, locals who post to social media with the #exploreKelownalocal and tagging Tourism Kelowna's accounts, will be entered to win a $100 Love For Kelowna online store gift card!
Locals are also encouraged to wear their favourite Kelowna or Okanagan related apparel while exploring the beautiful region.
