The ‘Coldest Night of the Year’ has become a nationwide event and it’s set to take place in Kelowna on Feb. 22 this year.
The 2-kilometre, 5-kilometre or 10-kilometre walk will see residents come together to show support for the city’s homeless population and raise money for Metro Community.
“Funds raised this year will go directly to developing the courtyard next to the Metro Coffee Shop,” said Jason Siebenga, Metro Community’s chairperson.
“This courtyard will be a place where those who are homeless can come to relax, get some food or drinks, share in community BBQs and gather to develop relationships.”
People of all ages are encouraged to come out of the family-friendly walk-a-thon and join together to make a difference for the much-discussed issue of homelessness in Kelowna.
It’ll start at Sandhill Winery at 4 pm on the 22nd.
