Crews begin slope stabilization work on Clifton Road

Motorists will experience slight delays on Clifton Road for a few weeks.

Crews began work today to repair a small slope slide on the east side of the road around 300 metres north of High Road.

According to the City, the small slope failure occurred in January within the black slope of a small drainage pond at 780 Clifton Rd.

“Crews will be filling in a drainage pond and re-routing storm water to the main drain along Clifton Road to stabilize the slope,” explained a City of Kelowna release.

Provisions for the lost storm detention will be made up elsewhere in the system with future improvements.

Work is estimated to finish up in May.

Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the process, with a 30 km/h speed limit in place.
