A new and improved Central has reopened and that means it’s time for the eatery’s popular celebrity burger to return.
The first celebrity burger after the hiatus is dedicated to a very important young girl in Elara Isagawa.
“As many of you know, at the beginning of this year, Elara entered the fight of her young life when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer,” said Central co-owner Jared Lee.
“We are incredibly happy to announce that five months later, Elara kicked cancer’s ass and is officially cancer free!”
Thus, the ELARA V. EVERYBODY burger, which is available at Central throughout the weekend starting at 5 pm today.
It features Central’s famous patty, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, garlic aioli, crispy black peppered bacon (Elara’s favourite), a pretzel bun and topped with a deep-fried pickle.
Central will donate $2 from the sale of every ELARA V. EVERYBODY burger to Vancouver Children’s Hospital, while Lee and his co-owner Devon Murray will match it.
It’s not the first time Lee and Murray have supported Elara’s cause through Central, as they held a “Burgers for Elara” fundraiser back in February.
“Elara’s parents Nico and Jessica are incredible Central regulars and we couldn’t stand by without doing something to help this amazing family with whatever we could,” explained Lee.
“We were pleasantly surprised to see the entire city come out to support this little angel!”
The fundraiser was a smashing success, raising $10,000 for the family’s medical costs and expenditures.
It’s a summer weekend in Kelowna, so Central will surely be a busy spot over the next three days, but make sure to get down there at some point this weekend if you want to try this important celebrity burger!
