Canadian Forces Snowbirds turn heads during Kelowna fly by

Kelowna was treated to an unusual roar from the sky on Wednesday afternoon.

A fleet of Canadian Forces Snowbirds cruised through the Okanagan to make a fueling pit stop at Kelowna International Airport while en route to Vancouver Island.

The snowbirds are on the way to Comox, B.C. for their annual "spring training" sessions.

According to Instagram, the fleet originally took off from Moose Jaw, then stopped in Lethbridge and re-fuelled in Kelowna while on the way to Vancouver Island.

Now in their 48th season, the Snowbirds are known across North America for their aerobatic performances and skillful fly-bys.

While the Okanagan didn't get to experience the full Snowbird show Wednesday afternoon, the fleet will return to the Penticton Peach Festival this August!
