(UPDATE: July 30 @ 6 am): Kamloops Mounties have released images of a suspect in a sexual assault investigation.
A woman said she was sexually assaulted by a man who jumped in her car on 5th Ave at Victoria Street just after midnight on July 18.
Her phone was also taken, police said, but later found by officers.
The woman said she had scared off the suspect by honking her horn.
The suspect is described as:
Anyone who recognizes the man or has any information about the investigation and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2021-24462.
(Original story: July 22 @ 9 am): Mounties in Kamloops have asked for the public’s help after a woman said she was sexually assaulted in the city.
It happened just after midnight on July 18 at 5th Ave and Victoria St.
The woman said that, when she was getting into her vehicle, a man jumped in with her.
He then sexually assaulted her and stole her cell phone, she told police.
Because she was able to honk her horn and yell, the woman said the suspect fled westbound through an alley between Seymour and Victoria Streets.
Her phone was later recovered by police.

“Our team of investigators has been working diligently, collecting surveillance and witness statements, as well as examining any forensic evidence available,” said Const. Crystal Evelyn.
