Kamloops singer Cameron Whitcomb performed another energetic rendition of a Creedence Clearwater Revival classic, “Bad Moon Rising,” on American Idol’s Monday night show.
Despite the guest mentor, Bebe Rexha, recommending he use a microphone stand during his performance to harness his energy, Whitcomb decided to take his usual approach and pace around the stage, and he once again did a backflip.
“I understand now why you have to flip because if you don’t get a burst of energy out, Lionel and I think maybe you’ll just blow up,” said judge Katy Perry.
Whitcomb responded, “100% guaranteed.”
“I don’t know what kind of case study you are, but honestly you should bathe in lavender oil to go down,” Perry continued.
Despite Bebe Rexha seemingly a little disappointed, judge Luke Bryan had only words of encouragement for Whitcomb.
“We could sit here and tell you a million times not to move around on the stage, but it would be a waste of breath, so you keep doing what you do, keep smiling, keep having fun,” Bryan said.
Viewers will find out if Whitcomb has a spot in the top 20 on Sunday.
