A rockslide six kilometres east of Spences Bridge on Jan. 18 is causing delays on Highway 1, and is still reduced to single lane alternating traffic this morning.
Drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

Highway 1 six kilometres of Spences Bridge has reopened to single lane alternating traffic.
DriveBC reported the partial reopening at 5:42 p.m. and has not provided information on when it will fully reopen.
(UPDATE Jan. 19 @ 11:30 a.m.) — Highway 1 remains closed after a rock slide six kilometres east of Spences Bridge on Thursday. The highway is expected to reopen at 3 p.m, according to Drive BC.

(UPDATE Jan. 18 @ 5:15 p.m.) — Highway 1 will be closed overnight near Spences Bridge, Drive BC says.
A rock slide around 12:30 p.m. closed the Highway in both directions six kilometres east of Spences Bridge and there is still no estimated time of reopening. Drive BC says it will provide its next update at 10 a.m.
(Jan. 18 @ 2 p.m.) — Highway 1 is closed six kilometres east of Spences Bridge due to a rock slide. Both lanes are blocked and there is no estimated time of reopening.
A driver at the scene told NowMedia the rock slide came down on a tractor truck, but the truck driver managed to walk away from the accident.
The front end of the truck sustained major damage and an ambulance is on scene.
"The ambulance is here, they were checking him out but he's walking around," said Wes Anderson.
Anderson said he arrived at 12:45 p.m., about 15 minutes after the slide came down, he estimates.
"It's a fairly major rock slide, both lanes of traffic are completely blocked, a couple of the boulders are the size of pickups," Anderson said. "They're not letting anyone through. There's no way to get through."
Anderson said all traffic was being turned around. Lytton RCMP are on scene, but have not provided an update. Drive BC says it will give its next update at 5 p.m.
