Record-breaking $80M jackpot won outside of BC, $1M ticket sold in Kamloops

The largest jackpot in Canadian lottery history was won on Tuesday night.

However, it wasn’t the largest single lottery prize, as the $80-million jackpot was split by a pair of ticket holders in Ontario and Quebec.

The two lucky winners will each take home $40 million thanks to the following winning numbers: 02 - 04 - 11 - 16 - 25 - 29 - 47 - bonus 34.

And while the historic jackpot was won outside of British Columbia, the province did produce one big winner in Tuesday’s draw.

There ended up being 24 Maxmillions prizes of $1 million up for grabs once ticket sales closed at 7:30 pm on Tuesday.

One of those was won by a ticket sold in Kamloops.

The winning numbers for that Maxmillions ticket were: 01 - 26 - 27 - 30 - 40 - 42 - 43.

Both the two $40-million winners and the Maxmillions winner from Kamloops now have 365 days to come forward and claim their prizes.

The next Lotto Max draw on Friday will have an estimated jackpot of $22 million.
