(UPDATE: Oct. 1 @ 11:55 am) – The Kamloops RCMP say Mission Flats Road has reopened after police responded to a report of a person being hit by a train Wednesday morning.
At about 8:20 am, the RCMP and CPKC Police responded to the area near Landsdowne Street and 2nd Avenue.
The trains were also stopped during the investigation.
"The road reopened, but the investigation is still ongoing,” said Cpl. Dana Napier.
“Police Dog Services and a drone were used to locate the person struck; however, no one was located during an extensive search along the tracks.”
Anyone who was in the area around 8 am with video footage or more information about the incident is asked to call the RCMP at (250) 828-3000.
(Original story: Oct. 1 @ 9 am) – The Kamloops RCMP are responding to a report that a pedestrian was hit by a train on Mission Flats Road.
The road has been closed as the RCMP and CPKC Police respond to the incident.
Details are limited at this time but the public is being asked to avoid the area until officers and first responders have cleared.
“The detachment thanks the community for its patience and understanding,” the Kamloops RCMP said.
