Kamloops dump truck among $200,000 worth of stolen vehicles recovered in Lillooet

Lillooet RCMP executed a search warrant on a property at Airport Road last week where they found a large number of stolen vehicles.

On April 1st, a 2005 Peterbuilt dump truck was reported stolen to the Tk'emlups RCMP by the registered owner. The vehicle was last seen parked near Savona on March 29th. Several days later, the vehicle was observed by the owner on a Lillooet property. RCMP obtained and executed a search warrant where they arrested two suspects.

Lillooet RCMP partnered with ICBC Special Investigator and recovered approximately $200,000 worth of stolen vehicles.

A 63-year old man and a 44-year old man, both from Lillooet were arrested at the scene and remain in custody for court today. Both suspects are facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime, careless use of a firearm and tampering with a vehicle identification number.

The investigation is still ongoing.
