Thompson Okanagan gets major shout outs in Great Taste of Canada guide

Restaurants, patios, vino, brews, cider, fruit markets and honey from the Thompson Okanagan all get love in the new Great Taste of Canada guide.

The guide at www.canadaculinary.com is an initiative of the Culinary Tourism Alliance and the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.

It profiles the best in food, drink and agri-tourism in 40 destinations coast to coast.

The Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association jumped on board big time to get as much coverage as possible for local farmers, chefs, restos, wineries, cideries and breweries.

In the association's news release spotlighting the region's prowess it said: "The Great Taste of Canada showcases a variety of culinary experiences, unforgettable adventures and unparalleled sensory experiences unique to their locales in Vernon, Shuswap, Osoyoos, Kamloops and Kelowna."

The Thompson Okanagan is also showcased as a beautiful land with diverse climate and geography, from desert to rainforest, that has many talented growers, makers and artisans creating ideal agricultural and culinary communities.
