Another fast-food chain is jumping on the Beyond Meat train, but it hasn’t made it to Canada quite yet.
Kentucky Fried Chicken announced today that it was introducing plant-based chicken starting today, but only at one restaurant in Atlanta.
"KFC Beyond Fried Chicken is so delicious, our customers will find it difficult to tell that it's plant-based," said Kevin Hochman, president and chief concept officer of KFC.
"I think we've all heard 'it tastes like chicken' – well our customers are going to be amazed and say, 'it tastes like Kentucky Fried Chicken!'"
The ‘Beyond Fried Chicken’ is available in nuggets with dipping sauce or boneless wings tossed in Nashville Hot, Buffalo or Honey BBQ sauce.
Feedback from today will help KFC decide whether to roll out the new product across the United States and Canada.
KFC Canada confirmed on Twitter that there aren’t plans to bring the plant-based friend chicken to Canada “yet.”
