Saturday morning Armstrong IPE Parade kicks off weekend of action

It’s the best time of the year in the otherwise quiet North Okanagan city of Armstrong.

The 124th annual Armstrong Interior Provincial Exhibition and Stampede has been underway since Wednesday, featuring five days of non-stop fun at the Armstrong Fair Grounds (310 Wood Ave.).

The five-day agricultural fair celebrates farming, livestock, local talent and community with entertainment, events, vendors and, of course, the annual rodeo.

Simply put, it’s family-friendly fun in the purest of forms.

Gates open at 7:30 am each day, as do the barns, and that’s followed up by food, commercial and agricultural vendors at 10 am.

The always-popular midway runs from 11 am until 11 pm daily, while the rodeo begins nightly at 7:30 pm until it wraps up on Saturday.

Things kick up a notch heading into the weekend with the legendary IPE Barn Dance on Friday and Saturday nights, along with the IPE Parade through town on Saturday at 10 am.

While there are some consistent daily elements at the Armstrong IPE, each day also features a variety of different events for attendees to enjoy.

There’s far too much to list, but you can check out the entire in-depth schedule through this link.

Single-day or multi-day IPE admission passes are available here and guests should note that you’ll need separate tickets for midway rides, rodeo events and the barn dances.
