When COVID-19 forced the second annual Music Fest MS to move to an online virtual format, organizer Ben Klick wasn’t phased.
Instead, the West Kelowna musician embraced the challenge and streamed a fantastic show with plenty of talent for viewers across Canada.
In the end, the virtual music festival raised an impressive $34,690 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
More than 4,000 viewers tuned into the 90-minute show that featured Klick, Jess Moskaluke, Aaron Goodvin, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Bobby Wills, Wes Mack and plenty others.
MS is an auto-immune disease that affects so many people across the world and it entered Klick’s life in 2018, when his father was diagnosed.
“Once I received the news, I knew I wanted to do something to help,” he said.
“My family has always been extremely close, and it’s the least I could do to give back when they’ve all supported me over the years.”
That nearly-35,000 total isn’t done yet, as donations to Music Fest MS are open until September and you can watch a replay of the show on Klick’s YouTube channel.
