There is not much that beats watching a movie under the stars and Okanagan residents will have a few chances to do that next week.
Interior Savings’ Moonlight Movie Tour is back for another summer and it will stop in Penticton, West Kelowna, Kelowna and Lake Country.
There is no charge to attend, but a donation of $3 per person or $10 per family is suggested, and a concession stand will be open to quench your thirst and satisfy your sweet tooth.
Here’s the schedule for the four nights of outdoor movies, which will be played on a giant inflatable screen:
“Proceeds from this event will help BGC Okanagan provide children, youth and families the tools to realize positive outcomes in self-expression, academics, healthy living, physical activity, mental health, leadership and more,” explained Richelle Leckey from BGC Okanagan.
“We do this through our daycare, after school care, recreation, and support programs that help them become their best selves.”
Interior Savings CEO Brian Harris said the Moonlight Movie Tour has raised over $183,000 to support youth and mental wellness programs since its start in 2010.
“We’re pleased to bring the Moonlight Movie Tour back to our communities and help raise awareness and funds for local non-profit organizations,” he said.
“Our hope is this event will provide an opportunity for communities to reconnect and for families to create some wonderful memories together.”
Gates for each show will open at 7 pm and moviegoers are encouraged to bring cash for snacks, along with lawn chairs or blankets for maximum comfort.
