Believe it or not, despite her status as a pioneer of female hip hop and R&B, Missy Elliott has never embarked on her own headlining tour.
That will change this year, as the 52-year-old is set to hit the road on the Out Of This World – The Missy Elliott Experience tour that will feature some other big names as well.
She’ll be joined by Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland when she hits the road this summer and the tour will begin right here in British Columbia.
It kicks off with a show at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Thursday, July 4, and will also stop at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on Saturday, July 6.
With today’s announcement, Elliott called it an “incredible time” in her life as she experiences a number of milestone firsts.
“Fans have been asking me to tour forever, but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family,” she said.
“So get ready to be taken Out Of This World with me, Busta Rhymes, Ciara and Timbaland! We can’t wait to share this experience with the fans!”
Fans in attendance for her shows this summer can expect to be taken back in time with early 2000s hits like “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It,” “Lose Control” and “Gossip Folks.”
Tickets for the Out Of This World – The Missy Elliott Experience tour will go on sale at 10 am on Friday, April 12, through Live Nation.
