Kelowna’s 101.5 EZ Rock and Penticton’s 97.1 Sun FM rebrand over the weekend

A pair of Okanagan radio stations made some major changes over the weekend.

Both 101.5 EZ Rock in Kelowna and 97.1 Sun FM in Penticton changed to Move Radio on Sunday, part of a 10-station rebrand made by Bell Media.

The only other British Columbia radio station to be a part of the change was 103.5 QMFM in Vancouver, which has been a staple in the Lower Mainland since the 1960s.

All of the other 10 stations that changed are in Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

According to Bell, Kyle Stewart's morning show in Penticton will stay the same, but Stephen Keppler will take over the early slot in Kelowna beginning next week.

“We are thrilled to bring this fresh new brand to iHeartRadio Canada – MOVE with us at home, at work or on the go,” said Dave Daigle, vice president of radio at Bell Media.

“Across Canada, listeners can enjoy exclusive content, contesting, and their favourite songs from the biggest artists.”

Listeners can count on Move Radio to play the biggest hits and favourites from the past, along with local information and programming in each market.

Those who work a regular weekday work shift will also be able to count on 60 minutes of non-stop music every hour between 9 am and 5 pm during the week, starting on Monday, Jan. 4.
