Over 40 rescue dogs are coming to Kelowna in search of a new home

If you’re looking to give a dog in need a forever home, you won’t want to miss an event coming to Kelowna.

Embrace a Discarded Animal Society is bringing more than 40 rescue dogs to town over the April 27-29 weekend.

You’ll be able to meet these dogs at PetSmart Kelowna with a chance to adopt if you find the right fit.

“We’re the matchmakers in the dog world,” explains Leslie Fee, founder and president of Embrace. “We match the right people with the right dog.”

Kelowna residents who are interested in adopting can complete an application, either on the society’s website in advance or at the store during the event.

Selected applicants will be interviewed and a home check will be done before anyone is approved to adopt.

“We encourage anyone interested in adopting a rescue dog to come out to PetSmart and meet our gorgeous dogs,” Fee said.

To make this event happen, more than 60 Kelowna residents are generously donating their time to volunteer.

They’ll be at the store to take care of the dogs and do “meet and greets” with potential adopters.

Embrace a Discarded Animal Society is a registered Canadian charity which has been involved in the rescue, transport, and rehoming of small breed dogs from California since 2012.
