How remote work is changing the legal system

In this episode of Business Matters, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, host Rob Cupello is joined by Scott Chambers, employment lawyer and Partner at Doak Shirreff LLP, to talk about how the pandemic has changed employment legislation across industries.

From an increase in remote work arrangements to new workplace health and safety policies, a lot has changed in the workforce since 2020. According to Scott, employment lawyers have seen an increase in cases involving constructive dismissals, the introduction of BC’s new paid sick leave, and a major shift in attitudes about working from home—all of which have their own specific legal ramifications.

Watch the full episode to learn more about how employment law has adapted during the pandemic and better understand what’s new for you as an employee or employer.
