RCMP say BC man, 71, dead following motorcycle crash in the Kootenays

BC Mounties says a 71-year-old man has died following a single motorcycle collision on Highway 3A.

On Saturday, RCMP officers responded to a report of the crash near Twin Bays, which is north of Creston in the Kootenays.

When officers arrived at the scene of the crash, they found the driver of the motorcycle was being treated for injuries.

Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Evidence from the scene suggests the driver, who was travelling alone and south on Hwy 3A, had failed to navigate a corner, which resulted in motorcycle travelling left off the highway.

A spokesperson says the RCMP, along with BC Highway Patrol and the BC Coroners Service, are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, however.
