Police are seeking a key witness of a fatal crash between a semi truck and motorcycle near Quesnel this summer.
On July 24, the RCMP were called to the scene of the crash on Highway 97 near Naver Creek Road, which is just north of Quesnel.
The man riding the motorcycle was killed and the driver of the semi was arrested for impaired driving.
In a release issued on Tuesday, the RCMP are appealing for information about a man who was driving a blue pickup truck and saw the aftermath of the fatal crash, which happened just after 12:30 am.
“The missing witness can be heard in the background of a 911 call,” says Corporal Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol.
“We know that the witness is a man who was driving a blue pickup, and he may have provided a flashlight and other items to the driver of the tractor trailer.”
If you are the driver of the blue pickup truck, or if you know who he is, the RCMP are urging you to call the BC Highway Patrol branch in Quesnel at (250) 992-9211.
