A recent search warrant was executed at a rural property in Beaverdell following reports of a clandestine lab.
According to a media release, the Midway RCMP initiated an investigation into a possible “shatter” lab earlier this year.
The product is a “chemically concentrated extract” from cannabis, the release says.
A search warrant was executed on Wednesday, Mar. 27 and ended with the lab being dismantled.
“Due to the hazardous nature of the property, the RCMP Federal Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) team and Forensic Identification Section (FIS) were mobilized to assist, mitigate and disassembled the lab,” says Cpl. Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the RCMP in British Columbia, in the release.
An investigation continues and police are still gathering evidence.
Anyone with information about this matter is asked to contact the Midway RCMP at (250) 449-2244 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
