Investigators seek witnesses of collision that killed family of 4 near Nakusp

The BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) is looking to speak with witnesses who may have been at the scene of a tragic collision that killed a family of four earlier this month.

The collision happened on July 5 at about 5:38 pm on Highway 6 near Hills, which is between Nakusp and Slocan.

The accident took place south of Crown Road and involved a tractor trailer hauling dimensional lumber, a news release front he BCHP says.

According to the release, the truck was travelling south and the Ford Maverick hauling a camper trailer was travelling north at the time of the accident.

Investigators are looking to speak to anyone that may have seen the collision, arrived shortly after the crash or who stopped to help those involved.

Specifically a couple in their mid to late thirties who were travelling northbound in a dark colour SUV at the time of the collision who may have witnessed the crash, the release says.

Anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or who may have dashcam video, is urged to contact BCHP Nelson at (250) 354-5180 and refer to file number 2024-2914.
